Well Te Ranga Tumua are now complete and on the ground as a whole in Slovensko! The body of TRT arrived safely Saturday night to a warm welcome by the Modrova locals and an emotional reunion (and tangi) with the advance party.
No rest for the wicked though as the very next morning (Sunday) the whole crew was on deck to practice their bracket for the afternoon performance at the farm. A large crowd and Slovak TV 1 were treated to Te Ranga Tumua in full flight for the first time ? jet lag or not!! Ka mau te wehi!! As usual the crowd loved it and showed genuine interest in who we were and what we are about. Big mihi to the new TRT arrivals ? way to rock that tierdness and travel fatigue right out of your system!!
Today (Monday) was a rest day but tomorrow the crew are travelling to Bratislava (the capital city only 45 mins drive away) then Vienna (Austria) for sightseeing and shopping. There they'll farewell Uncle (koro) G who is leaving to come home. Milos and the crew don't want him to go but hes vowed to return in October to see the rest of the gig out!
On Wednesday the crew are in Piestany getting their bearings and shopping, then Thursday practicing hard for an appearance on Slovakia?s version of Breakfast or Sunrise in Aotrearoa on Friday morning. They leave at 4am, go to makeup and wardrobe, then are interviewed and perform every half hour between 6.30am and 10am! On the way home they'll splish and splash it at a water park and why not? The weathers bound to be hot and sunny!!
This weekend will see performances on Saturday and Sunday, with a BBQ and pivo (beers) Sunday night for Lukes birthday. Monday is a rest day while the rest of the week is a mixture of parctice and more sightseeing!
Everyone here is fine and loving it! A big mihi to everyone at home that have worked, and are still working hard to make this experience a reality!! We love and miss you all hard and keep you in our thoughts and prayers daily. Were working hard to make you proud and can't wait to see you all again but not yet!!! Mouri ora whanau!! TRT
